the-road-less-traveledHAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It’s 2015 and the Smith Center has successfully completed a FULL year of service to the community as a nonprofit organization! We have been very fortunate to have Goodcity as our Fiscal Sponsor and that has given us the opportunity to receive access to trainings and networking events to help advance our mission. We have also been able to create a Family Health Fair, support other organizations in their endeavor to work in the community, created the Fatherhood Project 2014 a venture into providing parental advocacy and education and successfully accomplish three of our key events for the second year in a row The Smith Center Memorial Walk and the Holiday Turkey and Toy Drives

So what’s next for us as we go forward in this new year and beyond?

In keeping with our mission we have prepared a Goal List:

  • Smith Center Meet and Greet – To recruit new supporters and create networking opportunities
  • 2nd Annual Family Health Fair – To put on another successful family focused community event that will focus on all aspects of health and wellness
  • Village Vibe Session Focus Group and Pilot Program – In preparation and execution of an effective Family Support and Advocacy Program the Smith Center would like to work out as many kinks as possible.
  • 3rd Annual Smith Center Memorial Walk – Successful completion of our third annual family focused demonstration of community activism.
  • First Annual Smith Center Anniversary Event – STAY TUNED!
  • 3rd Annual Holiday Turkey & Toy Drives

And more projects and collaborations to come!

Please stay connected with us as we prepare to upgrade our website to feature more contacts for resource, information about upcoming events as well as information about our Board Members.  And please continue to help us in our mission in setting Words into Action in supporting the community and making a difference!
