New Year… New Adventures

It’s 2014 and we have started the ball rolling already! We started a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise the money to file for our 501c3 and it was a SUCCESS!!! Now we are applying for our 501c3 and soon we will be able to fully operate as a nonprofit organization and begin to seek out the appropriate grants and contracts to be able to provide quality services. Believe me when I say that I am excited as well as the entire TeamSCCA when we begin to offer our services.
And what exactly are our services? Well we have been working hard to provide a quality curriculum for our Village Vibe Sessions; family oriented workshops designed to empower, inspire and provide the necessary tools for family reconnection. These sessions will be interactive and strength-based and will help our families develop strong self correcting skills and in addition reinvest in the community, because a strong community is only sustained by strong families and we are here to BUILD!
We are also planning a calendar year of fundraisers, Community Action Projects, and collaborations with other nonprofits to really encapsulate the idea of a true network of grassroots agencies to serve and support the community.
When I started this organization, I was stepping out on faith and the support has been amazing! We have been able to do some remarkable things and I am SO proud of my team for everything that we have done so far. Now it’s time to step it up even more and show you what the Smith Center for Community Advancement is all about!
