1st Annual Karaoke for a Cause | The Smith Center for Community Advancement

On Tuesday, November 24th, The Smith Center hosted our first Karaoke Charity Mixer designed to help serve as a collaborative holiday drive for turkeys, thanksgiving dinner packages, toys, gifts, and games for families in need. It was a combined effort sponsored by Victory Sports Bar, Ghost Liquors, Starlight Entertainment (Karaoke DJ) and the Smith Center for Community Advancement as the Hostess and Co-Creator of the Mixer, Tiffany Fowler helped to entertain and motivate the crowd for the night.

Through the efforts of this event as well as continuing donations the Smith Center was able to exceed their goals and provide dinner packages for six families in need as well as distribute over 20 turkeys to individual families, churches and community organizations!

“Since homeless people have no kitchen to cook a turkey Beautiful People Organization will be taking home cook meals to people on the street. I reached out to one of our top supporters, Andre C Russell and The Smith Center for Community Advancement since they were driving around dropping off turkeys to those in need. I asked Andre if they would donate all the turkeys I needed to cook for the homeless on the streets and with no hesitation he said I am on my way to you. Thank you so much Andre. I am almost done cooking the turkey’s and homemade gravy. May God continue to bless both of our Organizations.” – Linda Flippin, Founder of Beautiful People Organization

Our next campaign is to continue collecting toys, gifts, games, books and gift cards for our Annual Christmas Chicago Toy Story Party on Saturday, December 19th at Rose of Light Missionary Baptist Church – 1302 W 74th St from 2-4pm
