Chicago Toy Story Highlights

On Saturday, December 19th the Smith Center for Community Advancement in partnership with Rose of Light Missionary Baptist Church hosted it’s 3rd Annual “Chicago Toy Story” Toy Drive and Giveaway with great success and holiday cheer! This year the organization was able to bless so many families with the help of different sponsors, donors and volunteers. The Smith Center not only provided gifts to the families in attendance but also were also able to support other community organizations by donating to their families in need as well. In all The Smith Center for Community Advancement were able to distribute toys and gifts to over 60 families and almost 200 children over the course of the weekend. Partnered with Rose of Light Missionary Baptist Church there was also a special blessing of food gift bags to all of the families that were in attendance for the Saturday Event.

The Smith Center would like to thank our very special major donor who generously contributed to this event. Mandy Zaransky-Hurst and Ragan Communications were new to our family and a big help this year and we definitely want to acknowledge that support to the fullest!
We also would like to thank our constant partners in this endeavor since Day #1 and that’s Pastor Jasper Edwards, Deborah and Johnnie Shaffer, Keith Tucker and Jeffrey Carodine of Rose of Light Missionary Baptist Church and the Brothers of Joseph Lodge #12.
